Photos of the Week

During our monthly Intergenerational Sunday School, Cindy Gutowski and her students use Godly Play to teach a lesson about Moses and the 10 Most Important Things.

We were all on the edge of our seats during Fr. Derek's Family Mass sermon.  Who knew that kazoos and the Beatles could teach us that  All We Need is Love?

Role-playing in St. Nick's Chapel helps children learn about our worship and sacraments.

This week I'm thinking about closing on the new church property at 1205 West Baker Street. We had to delay the closing just a few days, but I am excited to share that that should happen this week and that we have reached our goal of $75,000 for a down payment! Thank you so much for your incredible generosity. There will be an open house of the new building on November 15, 2026 at the Parish Fall Festival. We have already started cleaning up the grounds around the building and will be doing a little more work on the inside and outside as well. We welcome your help! Just reach out. We'd be glad to hear from you. One simple thing we are working on right now that you can do at any time is picking up trash and debris around the building. We've already picked up 7 black trash bags full of trash and there are probably another 7 that need to be filled. We'll also be doing some landscaping and painting before the Fall Festival. Thanks for your help and we ask for your continued prayers. That's what's on my mind today. What's on yours? I'd love to hear. Peace, Derek

2026 SCHOOL SUPPLY REPORT

Thanks to everyone for their donations to the School Supply Drive here at St. Peters. Your contribution to the collecting of items (I understand the desire to shop for school supplies) added to the final totals. The monetary donations totaled $1,150.00; I spent $1,150.69. I had such fun on the treasure hunt.  I’m including a list of what was purchased combined with the items that church members contributed. Though some of the items may seem odd; they were specifically requested by the Cork Administration. Thanks again for your prayers, support, funding, and trust in my ability to represent St. Peters’ dedication to fulfilling the needs at Cork Elementary for the 26/27 school year.

All Saints' Day

   Sunday, November 1, 2026

   8:00am and 10:30am

We read this week of how the veil between the church on earth and the church in glory grows thin. What we see on the other side is a multitude no one can count, from every nation and tribe and language, robed in white, their every tear wiped away by the hand of God. John's vision in Revelation and Jesus's Beatitudes belong together. The poor in spirit, the mourning, the meek, the persecuted: These are precisely the ones standing before the throne, because the Lamb who is their shepherd has guided them to springs of the water of life. We are God's children now, John tells us, and what we will be has not yet been revealed, but when he is revealed, we will be like him, for we will see him as he is. The saints are not distant heroes to admire but our companions in the same hope, knit together with us in the one body of Christ. #Episcopal

Mass for the Feast of

St. Andrew

   Monday, November 30, 2026

   8:00am

Almighty God, who gave such grace to your apostle Andrew that he readily obeyed the call of your Son Jesus Christ, and brought his brother with him: Give unto us, who are called by your Word, grace to follow him without delay, and to bring those near to us into his gracious presence; who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.

St. Andrew, remembered on November 30, is best known as the brother of Simon Peter, yet he holds a distinct and important place among the apostles. Once a disciple of John the Baptist, Andrew was among the first to follow Jesus after John proclaimed him as the Lamb of God. His immediate response was to bring his brother to Christ, making Andrew the first missionary in the circle of disciples. Though not part of Jesus’ inner three—Peter, James, and John—Andrew appears in key moments, including when he brought the boy with the loaves and fishes to Jesus at the feeding of the multitude. The Gospels portray him as one eager to connect others to Christ. While little is known about his later ministry, early tradition claims he preached in Scythia and was martyred on an X-shaped cross. Honored as the patron saint of Scotland, Andrew is remembered as one who quietly but faithfully led others to the Lord. #Episcopal
